Computer Incident Response Training at INFOSEC Forum
IV
As part of the Central Ohio chapters of ISSA, ISACA,
and InfraGard INFOSEC Forum IV, Interhack proudly
presents its training course in computer incident
response, entitled, “Surviving the
Attack.”
This course is designed for information technology
professionals of varying degrees of experience.
Listed as “foundational to intermediate,”
the course focuses not on the technology, but on the
process of incident response. Topics such as what
incident response is, how to form incident response
teams, and how to handle events are all covered.
Students will deploy a simple electronic storefront
infrastructure on an isolated network that will be
attacked by Interhack instructors.
Students will then need to put their incident response
plans into action, working to keep their systems up
and running, identifying the attacks and attackers,
and protecting their valuable “customer
information.” The course winds up on Day Three
with the team assessing and reporting on its own
performance, followed by a report and assessment by
Interhack's instructors.
Designed to allow students to feel the experience of
an attack, working through the problems as they occur,
and focused on minimizing the economic impact of the
attack, the course prepares students to return to
their jobs ready to develop an incident response
capability.
This course will be held at
Platform Labs,
1275 Kinnear Road, Columbus, Ohio. Presented at a
special price for the Columbus INFOSEC Forum IV, the
class is $495 for ISSA, ISACA, and InfraGard members
and $895 for non-members.
