Planning to Fail: Continuing to get it wrong
COLUMBUS, OHIO (April 16, 2004) -- Interhack's Matt
Curtin will deliver a keynote talk as part of Security
Week at The Ohio State University. On April 26,
Curtin will deliver the talk, “Planning To Fail:
Continuing To Get It Wrong” at the Faculty Club
Grand Lounge on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Abstract
It has been said that a failure to plan is a plan to
fail. While computer security research has been
active for more than thirty years, the practice lags
decades behind the theoretical state of the art. We
will consider trends in the cost and frequency of
failure in security, the forces shaping these trends,
and strategies for managing security rationally.
